President's Podium Well the year is half over and I haven’t gotten ½ done what
I set out to do! Typical. At least the weather is finally where it
should be, if not a little too hot, but I’m not complaining. I would
rather have the hot than the cold.
June was a busy month with 16 here for game night, 3 tables of dominos going. I guess this makes dominos the official game for SE members. 16 was pushing it, but we managed to fit everyone in, it was a little crowded, but that made it that much more fun. We will be doing the same on July 3rd, the first Sat. in July, so plan on attending for a fun filled evening. The Bash was well attended with 18 members and 2 guests. We all enjoyed hot dogs and hamburgers with an array of salads and side dishes, and of course the anniversary cake with ice cream after lunch. Richard did a great job of grilling the dogs and burgers, they tasted great. We even served Turkey burgers for those that don’t eat red meat. Fortunately the rain storm and it was a good one, waited until after the burgers were cooked to hit us directly. Prior to the thunder and lightning a few brave souls took a turn in the pool with the rain pouring down on them. They looked as if they were enjoying the experience. We had our usual raffle of “training material” and other goodies, which netted one member $ 23 and another $15. To show its appreciation the club presented members with a canvas tote bag with the SE logo with two movies inside. All in all, a good time was had by everyone who attended the bash, sorry some of you weren’t able to make it. Now onto July’s activities. This is going to be a very busy month guys. First off we have game night July 3rd at our place, remember we can comfortably take about 12-14, but did find out we can accommodate 16, who knew? Then the 2nd Sunday Pool Party on July 11th. Remember this is not an official SE event as we do invite other friends over to enjoy the pool, but all SE members are invited to come on over and enjoy a relaxing afternoon. All we ask is that you bring some snacks and we will have limited drinks, so wouldn’t hurt to bring something to drink also. We are hosting the gathering on July 17th and again will have the pool open for business. Bob R. is hosting a movie night on the 24th, seating is limited so be sure to RSVP and get additional information directly to/from Bob. The only event listed above that you need to RSVP to Ted is the gathering on the 17th. All other events, RSVP to the host of the event, especially if there is limited seating. As you can see guys July is going to be a very active month and we hope to see you at least one event. Now for the “remember this” part of the podium. Remember that we need to keep activity at bay until after the meeting. This is a non-sexual group and we do not want to do anything to make a member or guest feel uncomfortable. We want to provide a safe environment for nude men to get together and enjoy the nudity and camaraderie and not feel threatened in any way. I realize that “it was just the members and we all consented”, but keep in mind that guests and other members are watching and some find the activities offensive. So remember guys, after the meeting is fine, as long as the host approves, and after the meeting is when we turn in our name tags, so please try to keep cool and enjoy the day.

Our anniversary Bash had an attendance of eighteen members
and two guests making the event most enjoyable with all the free gifts
and raffles despite the afternoon showers.
Anyone wishing to sponsor a movie night may do so at Ted’s place at whatever time you desire. Simply provide the film of your choice to be shown and you are welcome to use Ted’s facility. The club is offering a website for those who wish to purchase souvenirs with the club logo. Check the site. www.cafepress.com/se_tampa We still have seven white hats at fifteen dollars each. The club appreciates the donations and generosity of the members who give their support at our monthly functions. We are still giving away those special raffle prizes that were donated in past months. We appreciate the generous, on the spot, donations of Bob R., Dan B. Just a reminder that in July we shall have an additional Teddy Bear Raffle….. We always need hosts for the year and would appreciate your making reservations for your preferred month ahead of time so we can better plan our events. Remember smaller events are good at times and you can limit the number of attendees to further enhance the nudist experience. Want to take this opportunity to wish those members who are under the weather a speedy and healthy recovery. You can send cards or call any of our members who are sick as their names are usually listed in our club directory. Plan ahead for a vacation this year with a nudist event of the year at GNI on August 20- 29, 2010. I will not miss it for the world and urge all who enjoy naturism at its best to join me this year in the Southern Exposure cabin. Please let me know early so I can plan for you in our club cabin. We only have three rsvp’s for the cabin this year. Note: there is now a special form on the SE web site for you to make your personal address and email changes and thus inform the appropriate people to keep your records up to date! Please make use of this added feature. Some of you have not done so and can not be contacted when it comes time for your renewals. This will help insure your receiving the newsletter and renewals on time. Also, please use the added Guest Pass feature on our web site when requesting a guest pass for your guests in the future. A reminder to all those who sponsor guests. It is your responsibility to inform your guests of our protocol and get the guest pass information in order to procure the guest pass for your guest. Don’t be lax in giving your guest all the benefits of joining an all-male nude experience. Be well informed and up front with your guests and accompany them to the event to make them feel more comfortable with their new experience. Just a reminder that being a nudist you need to very aware of your personal hygiene. We, being nudists, must always be aware of our own personal hygiene and do not enjoy the company of other nudists who do not bath and have body odor or leave skid marks on towels, It is very unsightly not to mention unclean. PLEASE take more pride in your personal appearance at our nudist events. Enjoy a healthy and prosperous nude summer! Ted |
